PROJECT

THE BAG PROJECT

Primary Material: Yugoslav Army Tent Canvas
Secondary Material: Calf Leather

Each one of our bags is unique. They all differ in shade and texture due to the reuse of materials, giving you a one-of-a-kind creation.

The tents we supply are not used anymore for military purposes, being dismissed as “out of date”. Some tents have visible marks as a testimony to their previous life.

Most tents have been produced and used from the early 70’s to the late 90’s. All tents originate from the area of ex-Yugoslavia (today Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and North Macedonia).
Yugoslavia changed its structure through the years. Therefore, the pattern and color of the army tents followed these changes. As a result, there are three types of military tents (M68, M93, SMB).

CODE DIAGRAM

Every HEROI piece has its own code. This way we wanted to bring you closer to the concept of sustainable handmade items made on a small production line.

First number indicates the project and item model with the specification of the material.
Second number indicates number of each item production.
Third number is the date of production for each item.

This code was inspired by the need for traceability of military tents in the past. Each tent has its own stamp containing the production year and place of manufacturing. Hence, we wanted to reflect this small history reminder to our products, as well.
